Missouri Lawmaker Introduces Bill Making Proposing Gun Control Laws a Felony

Yes. More of that please!

Rep. Mike Leara (R-St. Louis) introduced legislation Monday that would make “any member of the general assembly who proposes legislation that further restricts an individual’s right to bear arms” guilty of a class D felony.

The entire bill, HB 633, can be read on the Missouri House of Representatives website.

Now, I know that this has no way of ever passing and becoming law, but this is exactly what this country needs. The reason lawmakers run rough-shot over our liberties (gun rights and others) is because there is no accountability and no consequences. Pass a law that is unconstitutional and the only downside is that it might get thrown out by the courts a couple years down the road. Is it any wonder politicians use this tactic to push their political dogma? There needs to be legal accountability brought to bear on anyone in authority that does something that is unconstitutional. It is a crime after all… right?
