NRA News Release

And I quote:

The National Rifle Association of America is made up of four million moms and dads, sons and daughters – and we were shocked, saddened and heartbroken by the news of the horrific and senseless murders in Newtown.

Out of respect for the families, and as a matter of common decency, we have given time for mourning, prayer and a full investigation of the facts before commenting.

The NRA is prepared to offer meaningful contributions to help make sure this never happens again.

The NRA is planning to hold a major news conference in the Washington, DC area on Friday, December 21.

Details will be released to the media at the appropriate time.

  1. As a NRA member I look forward to there response. It is stupid to think that banning guns is going to stop this from happening again. Other countries arm there teachers and train them act to situations like this. It has been proven to work.

  2. I believe that allowing teachers and administrators to be trained and armed would help prevent such disasters. It should be voluntary for them. I firmly believe having trained, armed and radio equipped personnel on school grounds would be the best solution. We now have air marshalls on most planes and all the shopping malls have guards, therefore our kids are accustomed to this. Be advised, I am not suggesting TSA types. I am suggesting former, or off duty police and or military persons fully trained in security work. It would be a small price to pay for our loved ones.

  3. I am a trained Military Police. I love this country. I am a first generation immigrant from a country that doesn’t allow its citizens to have guns hence the bad guys loot and pillage coz they always find a way to get guns and the police/Govt is too corupt to do anything about it. THe 2nd ammendment gives the right to Americans to be self reliant in defensding themselves. Amazing freedoms and rights like that are some of the motivating reasons why people like me sign up to be willing to sacrifice our lives for this country. Heck I’d volinteer to be a school guard – it should be undercover though just like air marshals – otherwise the school guard woul be shot first – and then we’d be back to square one. The brave teachers who risked their lives to protect those kids think about it why would you want to put them at a disadvantage in protecting those kids by baning guns on school zones?
