The Drama of the DoubleTap Pistol Explained

Alternate Headline: Some clever spin on a Soap Opera title (I dont know)

If you have not heard about the well documented split between Heizer Defense and the DoubleTap Pistol, I’ll just sum it up by saying that there is definitely some drama there.

Until now, all we really knew is that the pistol team broke from the defense company to seek out their own manufacturing partner to bring the design to market. Richard now has a first hand report from the director of sales as Heizer Defense on why the split occurred. He is reporting that Heizer refused to let the pistol come to market due to safety concerns and differing opinions on ergonomic designs. He also says that Heizer still owns most if not all of the patents on the pistol and are still planning to bring forth some incarnation on the design.

Me thinks there is going to be a legal battle that will come to pass before we see any version of the pistol come to market from either company. More to read at the link, including a press release from Heizer.

  1. Methinks this is a giant disaster with a heaping dose of hype and empty promises. Blech. It was a year ago this month H.o.G. was promised receipt of one for review purposes. Looking like it’s now indefinite if at all.
